Retreat - The theme this year is “Remember When.” The dates for the retreat this year are January
7-13, 2019. Thursday (10th) – Sunday (13th) is full, but
this is still room for any days Monday (7th) – Noon Thursday (10th). If you are interested in coming any of those
days, contact Hope.

block (see Hope for the pattern), everyone’s name will go into a drawing and
the winner will get all the apron quilt blocks. Bring aprons to share/display –
if anyone can bring a clothes rack to display aprons, please contact Hope
Rooms will be assigned, names will be on the doors when you arrive.
The retreat committee has many fun things planned for the
week/weekend.
If you have special dietary needs and have not already let the
committee know, contact Hope as soon as possible so she can let the retreat
center know.
Beanie Babies Challenge - Pick a paper sack with a Beanie Baby
inside, make a quilt that goes with the beanie – approximately 40”x55” ; Bring
the completed quilt with you to the February Meeting (both Beanie and quilt);
we will be donating them to a children’s and/or a local hospital. If you need a
Beaning Baby, let Barb know.
Dues - Need to be paid - $15 no later than January, 17, 2019.
Treasurers Report - Ending Balance reported - there are still some
outstanding monies to be paid for the retreat.
New Business
January Meeting has been changed to the 17th (due to
retreat) 6:30 pm
February Meeting – there was some discussion about doing
something for Valentine’s Day, but overall there didn’t seem to be enough interest,
so we will hold our regular meeting.
Hostess Sign up was passed
around, if you weren’t able to sign up at the meeting, please sign up at the
January meeting. Thank you!
Programing - Officers will be meeting tonight to go over
planning for 2019. We already have a
good start to the year (a few things changed during the officers meeting from
the guild meeting) and we now only have 2 months without anything planned –
August and November. If you have any
ideas or have class you would like to teach, please let one of the officers
know. It would be nice to have the whole
year planned by our meeting in January.
Some suggestions for classes are: Fussy cutting, Flying Geese, Self-binding,
Mitered corners, Pre-cuts, Panels, Yo-yo’s, etc…
Discussion about inviting other guilds to our meeting when we have an
outside presenter coming.
Red Wing Quilt Show – This will be the first weekend in
February (2nd & 3rd) and is always a fun event to
attend. We will discuss at the January
meeting carpooling and going together as a guild.
