25th Annual EAA Quilt Show is Free on August 1
The Lakeside Quilters present the Silver Anniversary EAA Quilt Gathering on Thursday, August 1. A popular event for locals and EAA visitors, the annual show takes place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 234 N. Campbell Road. The venue is the Oshkosh Senior Center, about four miles northeast of the EAA Museum. There is no charge for parking or admission.
Lakeside Quilters is a guild with more than 100 quilters of all ages and abilities from the Fox Valley. They rent the Senior Center to display their quilts and bring in vendors who give demonstrations throughout the day. Door prizes and an affordable lunch are available. Marilyn Campbell, who initiated the first EAA quilt show in 1988, has been invited to exhibit a retrospective of her own work.
Members of the guild started a quilt last winter to raffle at the show. Categories on display include traditional pieced quilts, crazy quilts, applique, fiber arts, and home décor. There will also be some items for sale. Photos from previous shows are at www.focol.org/LakesideQG.
