2015
Quilt Retreats: Meg Tryba spoke on retreat attendance and housing arrangements
there. Registration checks are made
payable to Oak Forest and not cashed until the retreat. Spring dates are April
10th thru 12th Fri - Sun only option at $95. Signup sheet
at this meeting and March. Checks need
to be in to Kelly S. by or at March meeting.
Only three rooms are reserved. Arrange
your roommates in advance please.
The
Round Tuit program continues. Update your list of unfinished projects and keep
track as you complete them. Round Tuit
items were shared and prizes awarded.
Heidi
Headlee had Erica share a 4-H project (5-8th grade girls) to make
dog booties. If any guild members have large scraps of fleece, suede or strip
Velcro – could you please bring it in for this project. Thanks. Finished
booties to be sold to raise funds for NR Area Dog Park.
Pat
Speck, “Nickel Quilt Lady” coming to our March meeting. This will be a trunk show with uses for 5”
charm packs.
Betty
spoke on need to finish more caring quilts.
March 20th - 21st set up at Stanton Town Hall as
work days opening at 9:00 am. Please
come and help on this project whenever you can.
Meg
Tryba introduced our speaker - Sue Heinz from White Bear Lake. We all enjoyed the two hour presentation and
she had items to purchase available. “Sashing
in the Round” was title of presentation and the restriction on not saying CAN’T
was enforced. (kismetquilting.com)
Last
raffle basket drawing winner was Mary Simonds.
In lieu of basket as a fund-raiser, we will be bringing in items for the Food Shelf quarterly instead. First collection in March !!!
Stashbuster
