Old Business – Linda Justmann researched and reported about
our charity ideas for quilts to Puerto Rico and other charity organizations –
Heart to Heart, International Relief Teams, and Save the Children. It was suggested to give monetarily for
global charity and that quilt/fabric to be kept local. Linda J. moved to discontinue efforts to send
money or quilts to Puerto Rico and it was seconded by Mary Pagel. Approved.

There will be only 2 ribbons given out this year for Best of Show and the Farm
Girl Vintage project. Discussion between

ribbons for Farm Girl Vintage project and the Paint Chip Challenge will be
displayed at the show, open to members to complete their project for the quilt
show. Ribbons were already given for this project. Approved.
Farm Girl Vintage - blocks
were shown – Pam’s group – Judy, Sue, Pam, and JoDee – door prize won by
JoDee. Bridget’s group – Bridget showed
her blocks
Caring Quilts –
we are in need of large quilt tops so we will be changing up March’s meeting to
do a Sewing Bee to make quilts during the meeting evening – we split up into
teams tonight
Retreat – repeated
the information of changes for the January 2019 changes – policy changes from
Oak Forest Center including half payment required by August and the other half
in Oct. due to people backing out at the center which causes a loss for
them. The other fact is that during the
Jan retreat there will only be 4 rooms available for us to use allowing only 18
people to attend. It has been decided
that the 18 people that went this last year will have the first chance to go to
the retreat and if you chose to give up your spot, there will be a waiting list
of guild members that can be asked to fill your spot. The retreat will be from Thur. through
Sunday. Due to change in number of rooms
available, Oak Forest has offered us the option to do a retreat Mon. through
Thur. the same week of the January retreat, allowing more options for people to
attend. This will give more
opportunities for people to attend and more flexibility as well. It will be a little more complicated making
the changes happen but it will all work out.
Just know there will be more opportunities available if you wish. More to come at a later date about this. The
dates will be Jan 7-10, 2019 and Jan 10-13th, 2019.
